Day 7: St Lucia to Kwazulu Natal Battle Fields ( 350 km )
Stay over

It is an Adventure which brings together the magnificent scenery, historical, cultural and natural heritage of this province.
Today we will cover the best that KwaZulu Natal had to offer – The Drakensberg Mountains, Battlefields and Zululand.
Welcome to the Wonderful World of the KwaZulu-Natal Battlefields Route
With 82 battlefields, museums, old fortifications and places of remembrance the Route boasts the largest concentration of significant Battles and war-related sites than anywhere in South Africa.
For maximum pleasure and understanding visiting the Battlefields should not be done in a haphazard manner, so we will be spending the entire day visiting selected sites.
An afternoon stop at the Zululand Brewery perhaps because you’re already a fan of the Zulu Blonde Beer, which is available in the United Kingdom.
It all began in 1997 when the Chennells family decided to found their own beer company. Based in Eshowe in Zululand the beers went from strength to strength and the Zulu Blonde, which is the flagship of the brand, was launched internationally in 2010.
Enjoy yet another magnificent stay at one of our carefully selected lodges before morning ride to Clarens.

We begin our Adventure at Safari Ostrich Farm is an ostrich farm in Oudtshoorn, Garden Route, South Africa. It was established as a tourist attraction in 1956 by two good friends: Derek Fisch and Harry Lipschitz – both being 4th generation ostrich farmers. Our main concern is farming with ostriches on an extensive basis for the meat, leather/skins and feathers. Safari Ostrich Farm is, therefore, a commercial ostrich breeding farm with many ostriches, in their different stages of development, to see.
29km from Oudtshoorn, at the head of the picturesque Cango Valley, lies the spectacular underground wonder of the Klein Karoo – the Cango Caves. Situated in a limestone ridge parallel to the well-known Swartberg Mountains, you will find the finest dripstone caverns, with their vast halls and towering formations.

We settle for another peaceful evening.
